Get Involved at Birallee Park Neighbourhood House

“Our Table to Yours”

This project involves engaging a wide diversity of people from the community to prepare meals for donation to the more vulnerable members of our community, and has become even more relevant in our challenging economic times.

Our work through the “Our Table to Yours” project makes a huge difference to the lives of those people locally who don’t have access to safe, nutritious food each day. Partnering with organisations such as Albury Wodonga Regional Foodshare, Foodbank Victoria, the Ronald McDonald Family room,  Albury Wodonga Health, Palliative Care and other local charities and social welfare groups, we are able to distribute our frozen meals to those who are unable for whatever reason to feed themselves or their family.

We source rescued food thereby reducing waste, and seek relationships with backyard growers and supermarkets to assist with donated produce that would otherwise end up in landfill. By simple connections throughout the community we are able to share food and strengthen community resilience and resolve.

It is with great passion that the management and volunteers of Birallee Park Neighbourhood House aim to keep this project alive and thriving into the future, and we are currently seeking expanded kitchen space to be able to increase our capacity to deliver more meals to the community in order to cater for the increasing demand for food security locally.

To do this we require help from food partners, corporate bodies, all manner of community groups and you, the individual! Our staff and committee, whilst dedicated, are small, and it is necessary to rely on teams of individuals who come together daily to donate their time and energy, funds, and/or food or other products.

We ask for your donations to allow us to continue to serve those in our community who need us the most!

Donate Foods

We accept all manner of food and groceries from farmers, rescue groups, and retailers.

We have partnered with food companies such as Mars Australia, and Kooka Brothers, who donate products we can use in creating our meals and we accept donations of non-perishable and grocery items from schools and other groups which hold food drives on our behalf.

Local growers often donate surplus vegetables throughout the summer growing months, and we try to source other essential ingredients using our own fundraising efforts.

Donate Services

Volunteers are crucial for successful delivery of our relief program.

In-kind support can be provided through volunteering in the kitchen, picking product and packing meals. Team volunteering opportunities exist within corporate groups like the Wodonga City Management Team,  together with mainstream colleges such as Wodonga Senior Secondary and Middle Years Schools, together with disability groups such as the Murray Valley Centre for Adults with an Intellectual Disability.

Why not make a meaningful contribution and make new friends whilst volunteering with Birallee Park Neighbourhood House Inc.
